Ingredients to make Moong dal pakoras with aloo bhaji

  • For moong dal pakoras:
  • moong dal : 1 cup
  • White bread slices: 8
  • salt : 1 tsp
  • mint chutney : 2 tbsp
  • oil: to fry
  • FOR aloo BHAJI:
  • Boiled potatoes : 3 no.
  • tomato : 4 no.
  • Green chilli 1 no.
  • Desi ghee : 2 tbsp
  • hing: a pinch
  • jeera : 1 tsp
  • Whole red chilli: 2 no.
  • Whole coriander seeds : 1 tsp
  • salt to taste
  • Red chilli powder : 1 tsp
  • turmeric : 1 tsp
  • dhania powder : 1.5 tsp
  • Garam masala powder : 1/2 tsp
  • Loungi / Achar masala: 1 tsp
  • water 2 cup

How to make Moong dal pakoras with aloo bhaji

  1. Soak dal for 2 hours
  2. Make a paste of it with salt and some water like pakoras consistency keep it aside
  3. Cut bread slices into circle of maximum diameter ( motive is not to waste bread)
  4. ln a pan take ghee for bhaji add jeera, hing, whole chilli and whole coriander let it all splutter
  5. Add grated tomatoes cook it and let the water evaporates
  6. Add all the spices mentioned under also bhaji and sauté
  7. Add hand broken boiled potatoes
  8. After 2 minutes add water and let it simmer till thick gravy on medium low flame
  9. Heat oil to fry
  10. Take a slice and spread some mint chutney on it cover it with another slice to make a sandwich
  11. Now quickly dip this sandwich in dal batter and fry on high flame till golden brown
  12. Till now the bhaji must have been ready garnish with fresh coriander
  13. Serve hot and ready to take the compliments

My Tip:

You can also serve these pakoras stuffed with aloo (parantha) masala. Without aloo bhaji with tamarind sauce and mint chutney
