Ingredients to make MURI MASOOR GHANT (Fish head with masoor dal)

  • Fish head-1
  • Masoor Dal-2cups
  • Onion-2 (chopped)
  • Garlic-10 cloves
  • Green chillies-3
  • Coriander leaves (chopped)-1/2 cup
  • Tomato-2
  • Oil-3tbsp
  • Garam masala-1tsp
  • Ghee-1tsp
  • Sugar -1tsp
  • Turmeric powder -3tsp
  • Red chilli powder -2tsp
  • Salt to taste

How to make MURI MASOOR GHANT (Fish head with masoor dal)

  1. Sprinkle salt and turmeric on washed fish head.
  2. Chopp finely onion, garlic, ginger ,green chillies and half of coriander leaves.
  3. Chopp tomatoes.
  4. Heat oil in a pan.Fry the fish head till golden brown.keep aside.
  5. Add chopped onion, garlic ,ginger, green chillies, coriander leaves .Fry for 3 to 4 minutes.
  6. Add tomatoes. Fry till oil separates.
  7. Add salt ,turmeric ,red chilli powder. Mix well.
  8. Add dal ,fish head mix well.Add 3 cups of water.
  9. Release pressure.Boil for another 5 minutes.
  10. Add garam masala, ghee ,sugar.Mix well.
  11. Switch off gas.Garnish with coriander leaves.
