Savory Sangam Muffins / Uttappams

Ingredients to make Savory Sangam Muffins / Uttappams

  • 1/4 cup Urad dal
  • 1/4 cup moong dal ( yellow )
  • 1/4 cup green moong dal
  • 1/4 cup tur dal
  • 1/4 cup masoor dal
  • 1/4 Cup Chana Dal
  • 1 cup rice
  • 1/4 cup moong
  • Salt to taste
  • 1 teaspoon red chilli powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda ( if making muffins )
  • Assorted vegetables like grated carrot, chopped capsicum, tomatoes, green coriander leaves
  • 1 green chilli, chopped

How to make Savory Sangam Muffins / Uttappams

  1. Wash and soak the rice and all dals, moong overnight.
  2. Next morning, grind to a smooth paste
  3. Add water to adjust consistency like idli batter.
  4. Add salt, red chilli powder, green chilli and all vegetables.
  5. For making muffins, preheat the oven to 180 degrees for 10 minutes.
  6. Use , silicon moulds as it will be easy to de mould.
  7. Add the baking soda and give a quick whisk.
  8. Pour into cupcake moulds and bake for 12 to 15 minutes
  9. Remove when done.
  10. De mould after 5 minutes.
  11. Serve hot with pudina- dhaniya chutney.
  12. If making as uttappams, omit the baking soda.
  13. Shallow fry on a non stick pan.
  14. Cook both sides till golden brown.
  15. Serve with chutney and aloo sabji.
