Kesar Chandan Sharbat

Ingredients to make Kesar Chandan Sharbat

  • 1 liter + 1/2 cup water
  • 5 cups sugar (adjustable )
  • 1 tbsp Chandan paste or powder
  • 1 tsp saffron
  • 1 tsp citric acid

How to make Kesar Chandan Sharbat

  1. Boil around half a cup of water in a pan and add saffron in it. Turn off the gas and allow the water to rest and cool.
  2. In the same pan, using a mortar crush saffron gently and keep aside.
  3. Heat 1 liter of water in a separate pan and add sugar and lemon juice in it.
  4. Keep boiling the mix till sugar dissolves completely and the mix starts getting thick.
  5. Turn off the gas and let the mix rest and cool.
  6. Pass the sugar mix through a sieve and collect it in a clean bowl.
  7. Add saffron water, chandan paste and citric acid to the sugar mix and stir well with a spoon.
  8. Collect this sharbat syrup it in a glass bottle and store it in the fridge for months.
  9. To make sharbat, add 1 tbsp of prepared syrup in a chilled glass of water with some ice cubes and serve.
