ABOUT Pesarattu RECIPE

A healthy breakfast dosa made with green moong dal which is served in many South Indian homes.

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. Green moong dal - 1 cup
  2. Rice- 1/4 cup
  3. Besan - 1 tbsp
  4. Ginger - 1 tsp
  5. Green chillies - 6
  6. Garlic paste- 1 tsp
  7. Red Chilly powder - 1 tsp
  8. Salt to taste
  9. Sugar - 1/2 tsp
  10. Ghee as needed
  11. Grated coconut - 1 tbsp
  12. Grated carrot - 1 tbsp
  13. Chopped onion - 1 tbsp
  14. Chopped green chillies - 2 tsp

Instructions

  1. Soak the dal and rice for at least 6 hrs. Grind it together with ginger, green chillies.
  2. Mix the besan and salt to it. Keep aside.
  3. Mix garlic paste, sugar and red chilly powder together and keep aside.
  4. Now make dosas out of the dal batter, apply ghee.
  5. Apply the garlic paste on top, sprinkle the chopped onion, green chillies, grated coconut and carrot.
  6. When cooked on one side flip and cook the other side.Serve it with chutney
