Ingredients to make Sweet potato leaves with split green gram. (Moong Dal)

  • green gram lentils /moong dal 1 cup
  • Sweet potato leaves 2 cups
  • onion, chopped 1
  • tomato chopped 2
  • curd 2 tbsp
  • garlic, crushed 2 Tsp
  • ginger , grated 1 tsp
  • Dhania /coriander powder 1 tsp
  • Kitchen king masala 1 tsp
  • turmeric powder 1/2 tsp
  • Salt and chilli to taste
  • oil for seasoning
  • onion chopped 1 for garnishing
  • coriander leaves finely chopped for garnishing

How to make Sweet potato leaves with split green gram. (Moong Dal)

  1. Heat oil in a pan. Add Asafoetida, mustard seeds. After it crackles add jeera, chopped onions, ginger and garlic.
  2. Wash sweet potato leaves and dal.
  3. Wehn the onions become translucent add moong daal, add masala, salt. Cover and cook for some time.
  4. When the dal is half cooked add sweet potato leaves and chopped tomatoes.
  5. Cover and let cook for 2 minutes. Beat the curd and add.Switch off.
  6. Heat oil in another pan, fry onion till brown and add to it.
  7. Garnish with coriander leaves.
  8. You can eat this with both rice and roti.

My Tip:

You can also pressure cook dal. But just don't overcook it.
