Chicken Daalcha

Ingredients to make Chicken Daalcha

  • 150 grams pulses mix masoor dal and moong dal
  • 6-8 fleshy chicken pieces
  • 2 onions chopped fine
  • 2 tomatoes chopped fine
  • 2 tbsp ginger garlic
  • 1 tsp turmeric
  • 1 tsp garam masala
  • 2 tsp red chili powder
  • 1-2 tbsp Cummin &corriander powder
  • 2tbsp tomato ketchup
  • 1tbsp pure ghee

How to make Chicken Daalcha

  1. Wash soak mix both masoor dal and moong dal keep aside.
  2. Wash chicken add salt, red chili powder, and ginger garlic paste.
  3. Cook with 2 glasses of water for ten minutes
  4. Meanwhile cook dal with tomatoes, turmeric, salt and cumin coriander powder.
  5. Now have the boiled chicken and boiled dals ready.
  6. Take a kadhai heat ghee and saute onions till golden.
  7. Now add the chicken with the remaining water into the onions and add tomato ketchup too.
  8. Add the boiled mixed dal now to this chicken.
  9. Add garam masala at this stage.
  10. Let it simmer or slow cook for ten minutes.
  11. Sprinkle chopped coriander.
  12. Serve hot with rice

My Tip:

Seasoning is mild here you could add green chilies or add hot red chili powder.
