Masala Fusilli Pasta - Desi Style

Ingredients to make Masala Fusilli Pasta - Desi Style

  • Fusilli Pasta - 3/4 cup
  • Soya chunks [small size] – 1/4 cup [optional]
  • Onion - 1 Small Chopped finely
  • Tomato puree - 1 big tomato
  • Garlic finely chopped - 1 tsp
  • Tomato sauce - 3 tbsp
  • Pepper powder - 1/2 tsp
  • Chilli powder- 1 tsp
  • Turmeric Powder – 1/2 tsp
  • Coriander Powder – 1 tsp
  • Garam Masala – 1/2 tsp
  • Butter – 1 tbsp
  • Oil – 1 tbsp
  • Salt - to taste
  • For garnish – shredded Mozzarella cheese & Italian seasoning.

How to make Masala Fusilli Pasta - Desi Style

  1. Bring enough water to boil and add in fusilli pasta. Cook till they turn slightly soft. Drain and set aside. Take another pot and boil enough water by adding soya chunks and 1 tbsp. milk. Cook till soya turns soft. Drain and set aside.
  2. Take a pan and add in little oil and butter. Saute garlic in this until light brown and then drop in onions. When the onions turn transparent add in tomato puree. Stir and cook until raw smell disappears.
  3. To this add chili powder, turmeric powder, coriander powder, garam masala and salt. Stir to combine.
  4. Drop in cooked soya and pasta in this masala. Stir altogether on high flame, add tomato sauce and toss for 2 minutes. Turn off the flame.
  5. If you have at home sprinkle some Italian seasoning (I bought Italian seasoning at Nuts and Spices) & grate mozzarella on top. Serve warm.
My Tip: If you don’t like soya chunks, you can very well add veggies of your choice like corn, carrot, peas or any color capsicum, mushroom etc..
