Moongochi

Ingredients to make Moongochi

  • 100 grams Moong dal
  • 100 grams Curd
  • 1tsp Ginger paste
  • 1/2tsp Corriander powder
  • 1/2tsp Cumin powder
  • 1 tsp Red chili
  • 1/4tsp Asofetoida powder
  • 1/4tsp turmeric powder
  • 1/4tsp Fennel powder
  • 1/2 tsp Mustard seeds
  • 2 tbsp Ghee or oil
  • Curry leaves
  • Coriander to garnish

How to make Moongochi

  1. Soak moong dal as much time possible ( at least 1 hr)
  2. Now grind fine to a paste
  3. Add all seasoning to the ground moong dal, except mustard seeds, curry leaves
  4. Keep curd, ginger paste and coriander ready with the ground paste
  5. Now beat the curd well
  6. Heat ghee/oil in kadhai and splutter mustard and curry leaves
  7. Make a mix of beaten curd and the ground dal
  8. Add double the measure of water and stir for 5 minutes on high flame
  9. Slow flame keeps stirring to avoid boiling and till done.
  10. Remove in bowl sprinkle coriander and mix well
  11. Serve hot with paratha roti or rice
  12. Serve
My Tip: Add a tbsp of ghee when serving.
