ABOUT Bisi Bele Bath RECIPE

A delicious mix of vegetable, rice and continental lentils to produce a wholesome dish.

Ingredients Serving: 6

  1. Ingredients to roast and ground to a fine powder:
  2. 2 tbsp Urad dal
  3. 2 tbsp Chana dal
  4. 2 Cinnamon sticks
  5. 50 grams Dry coconut powder
  6. 4 to 5 Whole Chili
  7. 3 tbsp Coriander seeds
  8. Other Ingredients:
  9. 1 cup Toor dal
  10. 1 tsp Turmeric powder
  11. Oil- 2 tsp + 1 tbsp
  12. 2 small Tomatoes cubed
  13. 7 to 8 florets of Cauliflower
  14. 1 big Carrot cubed
  15. 3/4 cup Green beans
  16. 1 to 2 Capsicum cubed
  17. 1/2 cup Green peas
  18. For the tempering:
  19. 2 tbsp Oil
  20. 1 tsp Mustard seeds
  21. 1 tsp Cumin seeds
  22. 4 to 5 Green chili
  23. Few curry leaves
  24. Chopped cashew nuts
  25. 2 Tomatoes chopped
  26. 1 tsp Hing
  27. 2 cups Rice

Instructions

  1. Boil Toor Dal with water, turmeric powder. Cook till dal is soft.
  2. Roast ingredients to a powder in 2 tsp oil and powder it.Saute all vegetables in 2 tbsp oil.
  3. .Cook rice with vegetables, powdered spice made above, salt, few curry leaves and tamarind extract.
  4. Add cooked dal and cook till everything blends well.Adjust water.
  5. For tempering, heat oil in a pan.
  6. Add Hing, followed by rest of the ingredients and pour over the cooked mix.
  7. Garnish with chopped coriander leaves
  8. Serve hot with papad
