Chana Dal with Dry Prawns

Ingredients to make Chana Dal with Dry Prawns

  • Dry prawns 50g
  • Boiled chana dal 1 cup
  • Onion 2 , chopped
  • Green chilies 2
  • Ginger a small piece , chopped
  • Coconut 3/4 cup, grated
  • Small onion 6
  • Green chilies 5
  • Curry leaves
  • Chili powder 1 tsp
  • Turmeric 1/4 tsp
  • Salt
  • Oil

How to make Chana Dal with Dry Prawns

  1. Boil chana dal.
  2. Take a blender.Add coconut, 5 green chilies, small onion& some curry leaves. blend for 1 sec only, just to crush.
  3. Soak prawns in water for some time.remove that water & clean it well.
  4. Heat a pan with 2 tbsp of oil.add dry prawns & fry for some time.
  5. Then add chopped onion , 2 green chillies, & a piece of ginger.
  6. Fry everything well.
  7. Then add chili powder, turmeric powder & a little salt.
  8. When both onion & prawns are well fried , add crushed coconut mixture. sprinkle some water if it s very dry.
  9. Stir and add channa dal,curry leaves.
  10. Lastly, add a tbsp of coconut oil and switch off.
  11. Serve hot.
My Tip: If prawns are big, remove head & crush a bit. add salt carefully as some prawns contain salt. add coriander leaves.
