ABOUT Moong Dal Ladoo RECIPE

Moong dal laddoo is such a simple make ahead dessert that needs just three ingredients to make in less than 10 minutes

Ingredients Serving: 10

  1. 1 cup Moong dal
  2. 1 cup Castor sugar
  3. 1/3 cup Ghee
  4. 1 tsp Cardamom powder
  5. Nuts of choice for garnish

Instructions

  1. Dry roast the moong dal on low to medium heat for 10 minutes until slightly golden and aromatic.
  2. Turn off and cool the lentils to room temperature.
  3. Grind the dal and sugar separately, in a blender into fine powders.
  4. Sift the dal and sugar powders separately and remove if any coarse bits left out while grinding.
  5. In a pan add ghee and allow it to melt. Later add in the ground dal, sugar , cardamom powder and mix.Let the mixture heat up for a minute or two.
  6. Allow the dal mix to soak up all the ghee. Once the mixture comes together turn off the heat.
  7. Transfer the mixture on to a plate and Cool the mixture at room temperature until pliable.
  8. Now scoop enough mixture to make laddoo, onto your palm and shape it into laddoos.
  9. Repeat and shape the entire mix into laddoos. Makes around 18 medium sized laddoos.
  10. Garnish with chopped nuts of choice.
  11. Store in an airtight container and enjoy!
