Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. Chana Dal 1 &/2 cup (soaked for 2 hours )
  2. Rice 2 cup (soaked for 2 hours)
  3. Desi ghee 2 tbsp
  4. Cumin seeds 1tsp
  5. Cinnamon stick 1 inch
  6. Cardamom 2
  7. Cloves 2
  8. Onion 1 (chopped )
  9. Green chilli 5-7
  10. Tomatoes 2
  11. Haldi powder 1tsp
  12. Salt to Taste
  13. Ginger garlic paste 1tbsp

Instructions

  1. Heat ghee in a cooker
  2. Add cumin and whole garam masala
  3. Add chopped onion
  4. Saute till light golden
  5. Add ginger garlic paste
  6. Add Chana dal with 4 cups water
  7. Add Haldi
  8. Add chopped tomatoes
  9. Add salt to taste
  10. Cook for 10 minutes in a cooker till chana dal is slightly soft
  11. Check dal.Do not over cook
  12. Add rice and cook on high heat for 2 whistle
  13. Serve with your favorite pickle and fresh Dahi
