Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. Finely Chopped spinach 4 tablespoons
  2. Chana dal flour 2 tablespoon
  3. Ajwain 1 teaspoon
  4. haldi powder 1/2 teaspoon
  5. Red chilly powder 1 teaspoon
  6. sugar 1 teaspoon
  7. salt to taste
  8. Sesame seeds 2 teaspoons
  9. oil for shallow frying
  10. Green chilly chopped 2 teaspoons


  1. Wash spinach and chop finely
  2. Add Chana dal flour, salt, sugar, haldi powder, chilly powder, chopped green chilly, ajwain and soda to chopped spinach
  3. Mix well and keep aside
  4. Grease a plate with little oil and spread the spinach mixture on it
  5. Steam it as usual just like idli or dhokla for 10 to 15 minutes
  6. Steamed fritters to be cut
  7. Cut into pieces
  8. Heat some oil on non-stick Tawa, sprinkle Hing and sesame seeds and put spinach fritters for shallow frying
  9. Shallow fry fritters from both sides till crisp.
  10. Ready to serve ...With tomato sauce other green chutney
