Tomato Dal

Ingredients to make Tomato Dal

  • 1/2 cup Toor dal
  • 1/2 cup cherry tomatoes(any tomatoes will do)
  • 1 tsp mustard seeds
  • 1 tsp Kasuri methi
  • 1 tsp turmeric powder
  • 1 dried Red chilli
  • Salt for seasoning
  • 1 tbsp Vegetable oil

How to make Tomato Dal

  1. Cook dal in a pressure cooker or in a big pan.
  2. In a kadhai or wok heat vegetable oil, Add mustard seeds and whole red chili, when starts crackling add halved cherry tomatoes and fry a bit.
  3. Add salt, turmeric powder and 1/2 cup of water, let it boil for 10 minutes.Add Kasuri methi and boil a bit. Pour dal in serving bowls and serve.
