ABOUT Tomato Dal RECIPE

Tomato Dal is an easy recipe or side dish. We loved to eat tomato dal with steamed rice and matchstick potato fries. It's divine. Sometimes simple food can beat spicy exotic foods. Tomato dal is one of that dish. My love for Tomato Daal inspired me to share this recipe.

Ingredients Serving: 2

  1. 1/2 cup Toor dal
  2. 1/2 cup cherry tomatoes(any tomatoes will do)
  3. 1 tsp mustard seeds
  4. 1 tsp Kasuri methi
  5. 1 tsp turmeric powder
  6. 1 dried Red chilli
  7. Salt for seasoning
  8. 1 tbsp Vegetable oil

Instructions

  1. Cook dal in a pressure cooker or in a big pan.
  2. In a kadhai or wok heat vegetable oil, Add mustard seeds and whole red chili, when starts crackling add halved cherry tomatoes and fry a bit.
  3. Add salt, turmeric powder and 1/2 cup of water, let it boil for 10 minutes.Add Kasuri methi and boil a bit. Pour dal in serving bowls and serve.
