Ingredients to make Moong Dal Cheela

  • 1 Katori - Dhuli moong dal (washed and soaked for 2-3 hours)
  • 2 tsp - sooji
  • 3/4th tsp - salt
  • 2 - Green Chili
  • 4-5 - garlic Cloves
  • 1/4th tsp - turmeric Powder
  • water - For Grinding
  • Refined Oil or ghee

How to make Moong Dal Cheela

  1. To make the cheela, strain the water completely from the soaked dal and grind it with garlic cloves & green chili to get a smooth paste.
  2. Transfer the batter to a bowl and add sooji , salt and turmeric powder. Mix and let it stand for 10- 15 minutes. Batter should neither be too thick nor too thin. Add some water to get the right consistency if you find it too thick.
  3. Heat a non stick tawa. Pour a ladle full of batter on it and spread evenly. Spread some oil on sides and on the cheela.
  4. Let it cook from one side and then flip. Spread some oil on the sides and let it cook till you get a golden brown color on both sides.
  5. Serve with any chutney of your choice.

My Tip:

With the same batter you can make appe too .
