Pearls Biryani

Ingredients to make Pearls Biryani

  • Rice - 3/4 cup
  • Mix pulses (white peas, kabuli chana, black chana, moong, rajma, peanuts) - 1/2 cup
  • Tomato - 2
  • Spring Onion or Regular Onion - 2-3
  • Garlic Paste - 1 tsp
  • Salt to taste
  • Red Chili Powder - 2 tsp
  • Haldi - 1/2 tsp
  • Biryani Masala - 2tsp
  • Oil+Ghee - 5-6 tsp
  • Rai - 1tsp
  • Jeera - 1 tsp
  • Few strands of saffron soaked in 1/2 tea cup of milk
  • Cashew Nuts - 5-6
  • Coriander Leaves - 1/4 cup

How to make Pearls Biryani

  1. Soak mix pulses in water for 5-6 hours.
  2. Soak rice for 30 minutes.
  3. Pressure cook rice (with double quantity of water) and cook mix pulse separately. Strain water from boiled mix dal.
  4. Take a pan, heat oil and ghee together. Add rai and jeera, when the spices crackle add cashew nuts and chopped onion. Add garlic paste and saute it. Add chopped tomatoes and saute it.
  5. Add all the masalas like salt, haldi, red mirch powder, biryani masala and a little water. Mix well. Add boiled pulses and rice to the masala.
  6. Add chopped coriander leaves and give it a gentle mix.
  7. Now take a microwave safe bowl and grease it with ghee. Fill with prepared biryani and pour saffron milk over it.
  8. Close with lid and microwave for 5-6minutes. Take it out and serve hot with chilled curd.

My Tip:

Add fried onions to make this more delicious.
