ABOUT Ginger Chutney RECIPE

Ingredients Serving: 6

  1. Chopped ginger pieces - 2 tablespoons (choose tender ginger)
  2. Oil - 3 tablespoons
  3. Mustard seeds - 1/2 teaspoon
  4. Red chilli powder - 1 teaspoon
  5. Jaggery - 1 tablespoon
  6. Tamarind extract - 1 cup
  7. Salt - As required
  8. Turmeric powder - 1/4 teaspoon
  9. Methi seeds - 1 teaspoon
  10. Asafoetida- 1/4 teaspoon (or) 1 small piece Katti perungayam

Instructions

  1. Dry roast fenugreek and asafoetida, powder it and keep aside
  2. Heat oil in a kadai and add mustard seeds.
  3. After it splutters add ginger pieces and salt . sauté for few seconds. Then pour tamarind extract.
  4. Then add turmeric powder, red chilli powder and jaggery.
  5. Allow it to boil till it becomes thick paste
  6. Switch off the flame . Add the grind powder and mix well
