ABOUT Uppumanga Or Raw Mangoes In Brine RECIPE

Uppumanga or pachamanga uppilittathu is a lip smacking pickle that could be made easily. It is one of the simplest ways to pickle raw mangoes and is just enough to gobble down bowls of rice.

Ingredients Serving: 6

  1. Raw mangoes - 2 (cut lengthwise)
  2. Green chilies - 2 (cut lengthwise)
  3. Salt - 2 tbsp
  4. Vinegar - 2 tbsp
  5. Water - 2 Cups

Instructions

  1. Take the cut mangoes (without the seeds) and green chilies in a bowl. Add the water, vinegar and salt, mix well.
  2. Transfer the pickle to glass jars or ceramic containers.
  3. Allow it to rest for 1-2 days for the pickle to be ready.
