Guava Jelly

Ingredients to make Guava Jelly

  • Fresh Ripe guavas - 1/2 kg
  • White sugar - 1/2kg
  • water - 1/2 L
  • lemon Juice - 1/2 Cup

How to make Guava Jelly

  1. Wash and wipe the guavas.
  2. Boil water in a deep pan. Add diced guavas and boil for more 15 minutes. When the fruit becomes tender turn off the gas. Line a strainer with 4 layers of cheese cloth and strain the pup and liquid into a pan. Make sure you get a clear liquid.
  3. Boil this concentrate with sugar in a thick bottomed pan on low heat. Do a plate test once the liquid begins to thicken. If the jelly sets easily turn off the heat or else boil till you get a proper texture.
  4. Add lemon juice after 5 minutes and pour the jelly in glass containers to set.
  5. It can be stored for more than a month in the refrigerator.
