Drunken Chicken

Ingredients to make Drunken Chicken

  • Boneless chicken - 1/2 kg
  • Onions - 4 to 6
  • Dry coconut, grated - 1/2 Cup
  • Fennel seeds - 1/2 tsp
  • Peppercorns - 7-8 p
  • Garlic cloves - 8-9
  • khas khas - 1 teaspoon
  • Salt - as per taste
  • A pinch of asafoetida
  • Chilli powder - 1 tablespoon
  • Turmeric powder - 1 teaspoon
  • Garam masala - 1 teaspoon
  • Ginger Garlic paste - 2 teaspoon
  • Soy sauce - 1 teaspoon
  • Red wine - 1/2 Cup
  • Coriander leaves to garnish

How to make Drunken Chicken

  1. Marinate boneless chicken with chilli powder, turmeric powder, ginger garlic paste and salt. Keep aside for 1 hour.
  2. For gravy : Slice onions and roast in until they become golden brown. Roast grated dry coconut as well. Put both in grinder add garlic cloves, fennel seeds and pepper. Add little amount of water. Blend it to make smooth paste
  3. Heat oil in a vessel add asafoetida and 3 cloves of garlic and add chicken to it. Put water and let the chicken boil.
  4. In a pan heat oil put onion fry until it gets golden brown colour. Put red chill powder, garam masala, boneless boiled chicken and red wine.
  5. Add gravy and a little chicken stock soy sauce and salt. Let it cook for 5 minutes on high flame till the gravy gets dried.
  6. Remove it and garnish it with coriander leaves before serving.

My Tip:

Use chicken stock to make chicken soup.
