Vada Pav

Ingredients to make Vada Pav

  • Ladi Pav - 6
  • For Chutney : Coriander leaves - 1 Cup
  • Pudina Leaves - 1/2 Cup
  • Salt as per taste
  • Lemon Juice - 2 tsp
  • Garlic Cloves - 4
  • Green Chilies - 4
  • Jeera Powder - 1/2 tsp
  • For Vada : Potato Boiled - 5
  • Onion Chopped - 1
  • Garlic, Ginger, Green Chilies, crushed - 2 tsp
  • Coriander Leaves - 1/2 tsp, chopped
  • Jeera and Mustard Seeds - 1 tsp
  • Haldi Powder - 1 tsp
  • Salt as per taste
  • For covering : Besan - 2 cups
  • Haldi - 1/2 tsp
  • Salt as per taste
  • Baking Soda - 1 tsp
  • Chilli Powder - 1 tsp

How to make Vada Pav

  1. Grind all the ingredients for chutney and take out the chutney in a bowl.
  2. Make a thick besan paste for the vada.
  3. Heat about 2 tbsp of oil in a pan. Add jeera and mustard seed. When they splutter, add onion and lightly saute then add crushed ginger garlic chilies paste. Cook for 5 mins then add haldi.
  4. Mash the boiled potatoes and add salt as per taste. Add chopped coriander leaves and add mashed potatoes to the onion mixture. mix and cook for 5 minutes. Take it out in a bowl.
  5. Heat oil for frying. Make small balls of potatoes, coat with besan and fry.
  6. Take a pav, spread green chutney, garlic chutney and put one vada in the middle. Have it with a cup of tea.
