ABOUT Microwave Kalakand RECIPE

Kalakand or milk cake is an Indian dessert. Traditionally made, it takes hours on a as stove. My microwave recipe is ready in a jiffy.

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. 200 gm - Sweetened condensed milk
  2. 200 gm - Crumbled paneer or ricotta cheese
  3. 2 tsp - Ghee
  4. 1 tbsp - Warm milk
  5. Few strands of Saffron
  6. A pinch cardamom powder
  7. Chopped nuts of choice
  8. Microwave Safe Bowl

Instructions

  1. Mix the ghee, condensed milk and paneer in a microwave safe bowl. Microwave on HIGH for 4 minutes. Stir in between after 2 minutes.
  2. Soak the saffron in the warm milk beforehand. Add the saffron and cardamom powder to the milk mixture. Microwave again for 4 minutes on HIGH. Stir after every 2 minutes.
  3. Initially, the mixture would seem moist. But it will gradually come together and be a clumpy mass.
  4. Press into a well-greased pan and garnish with chopped nuts. Cut into pieces and serve.
