ABOUT OPOS Vegetable Biryani RECIPE

Tried this OPOS (one pot one shot) Veg biryani from OPOS You Tube channel. It is a quick and tasty recipe.

Ingredients Serving: 2

  1. Basmati Rice - 1 Cup
  2. Chopped Tomato - 1/2 Cup
  3. Curd - 3/4 Cup
  4. Chopped mint and Coriander leaves - 1/4 Cup
  5. Water - 5 tsp + 1/2 cup
  6. Salt -to taste
  7. Ghee - 2 tsp
  8. Mixed Veggies - 11/2 cup ( I used 1/2 cup of each carrot, beans and green peas)
  9. Garam Masala - 1/4 tsp
  10. Red chilli powder - 1 tsp
  11. Ginger Garlic paste -1 Tsp
  12. Turmeric powder -1/4 tsp
  13. Slit green chilli -1
  14. Fried Onion - 1/4 Cup
  15. Bay leaf - 1
  16. Cloves - 2
  17. Cardamom - 1

Instructions

  1. Wash and soak the rice for 15 mins and drained the water completely. In a bowl marinate the mixed veggies with green chilli, salt,ginger garlic paste, turmeric powder, garam masala, fried onion and curd for 5 mins
  2. In a 2L Pressure cooker add 5 tsp water, ghee and bay leaf, cloves and cardamom.
  3. Next layer with chopped tomato and half of the marinated veggies then add the drained the rice. Then layer with chopped mint and coriander leaves and then top layer with remaining half of the veggies.
  4. Pour 1/2 cup water to the side of the cooker. Now switch on the flame, cook at high flame for 2 whistles.Once the pressure settled down, open the lid and gently mix it.
  5. Now your biryani is ready in less than 6 mins.Serve with raita / chips.
