ABOUT Aloo Tamatar Wale RECIPE

Spicy, tangy sweet potato curry that you can have with poori / chapati / rice / cheela.

Ingredients Serving: 2

  1. 4 - Medium size potato, boiled
  2. 1 - Medium size onion, chopped
  3. 3-4 - Chopped tomatoes
  4. 1 inch - Ginger, finely chopped
  5. 1/2 tsp - Kalonji seeds
  6. 1 tsp - Salt
  7. 2 tbsp - Desi ghee
  8. 1/2 tsp - Zeera
  9. Pinch of hing
  10. 1/2 tsp each- Dhaniya powder / Kitchen king masala / Garam masala
  11. 1/2 tsp - Haldi

Instructions

  1. Peel the boiled potato and keep aside.
  2. Heat desi ghee in a kadhai. put some jeera and kalonji seeds. Let it splutter then add hing and ginger. Add chopped onions and saute till they turn brown.
  3. Add salt, haldi, dhaniya powder, kitchen king, garam masala. Saute for some more time. Add chopped tomatoes.Saute till the tomatoes soften completely and masala leaves oil.
  4. Now add 2 cups water and close the lid of the kadhai. Cook on medium heat. Mash potatoes in big pieces and add to the masala gravy.
  5. Close the lid for 5 minutes and cook. Aloo tamatar subzi is ready to serve. Turn off the gas and spoon it in a serving bowl. Serve hot with poori / rice / chapati / cheela / dosa.
