ABOUT Quick Raw Mango Chunda RECIPE

Mango chunda is a preserve that is common to all Gujarati households.

Ingredients Serving: 5

  1. 1 kg - Raw mango, grated
  2. Salt to taste
  3. 1 tsp - Turmeric Powder
  4. 3 - Dried Red Chilies
  5. 1 tsp - Kashmiri Mirch Powder
  6. 1.5 kg - Sugar
  7. 1tbsp - Cumin seed
  8. 1tbsp - Coriander seed
  9. Saffron to garnish
  10. Lemon zest to garnish

Instructions

  1. Mix salt and turmeric powder with grated mango and keep aside for 20 mins.
  2. Heat up a kadhai and pour sugar in it. Stir continuously for 2mins and add the mango. Stir well and add dry whole red chilies and red mirch powder. Stir well.
  3. Dry roast cumin and coriander in a pan and then make a fine powder. Add this into kadhai and stir well.
  4. Cool it & Store in a jar and garnish with lemon zest and saffron.
