Jelly boats

Ingredients to make Jelly boats

  • 4 oranges (big)
  • 1 pkt - jello (strawberry flavour)
  • 22 gms - marshmallows (refer tips)
  • 3/4 sachet - gelatin(8g)
  • 2 1/2 tbsp - sugar
  • 2 tbsp - water

How to make Jelly boats

  1. Scoop out the oranges carefully ,juice the pulp and set aside. Save the orange cups for the boats .
  2. Add gelatin to water and allow it to bloom for 2 mins. Microwave it for 20 secs, it will become a clear solution.
  3. Add 250 ml orange juice(extracted from the pulp) to a sauce pan and warm it ,nearing to boil.
  4. Remove from the flame ,add marsh mallows and stir it to become a homogeneous mix. Add gelatin and mix it well .
  5. Prepare strawberry jelly according to the instructions on the packet
  6. Place the orange cups in a muffin tray and pour orange and red jelly in each cup. Allow it to set in the refrigerator for 4 hrs or until the jelly is set .
  7. Cut into half to get the shape of boats .

My Tip:

I have used the juice from the pulp to avoid wasting it . You can use another flavour of jelly. The oranges were tart so i have used marshmallows.
