Ingredients to make Falafel

  • 1 Cup - Cooked chickpeas
  • 1 - Small to medium onion, chopped
  • 2-3 - Garlic, crushed
  • 1 tsp - Coriander powder
  • 1/2 tsp - Red chilli powder
  • 1 tsp - Cumin powder
  • 1/2 tsp - Black pepper
  • 3 tbsp - Breadcrumbs
  • Onion and lemon for garnishing
  • Green Chilli - 4
  • Coriander leaves - A bunch
  • Curd - 2 tbsp
  • Salt as desired
  • Oil for frying

How to make Falafel

  1. Soak chickpeas for 8-10hours, pressure cook with water and salt, drain the water and keep them aside. Mash the chickpeas, add spices, salt and mix well then add bread crumbs in it.
  2. Form into small or medium size balls and deep fry in hot oil.
  3. Serve with curd and coriander chutney. You can make it by mixing coriander leaves, green chilli, salt and curd. Blend it till smooth. Garnish with sliced onion and lemon.
