ABOUT Sago Potato Papad RECIPE

Sago Potato Papad are very healthy and can be easily made at home. They are called feni in Marathi. These papadums are made every summer and they can be stored for the whole year. The papads are deep fried and generally consumed during vrat or fast like navratri and Ekadashi. They serve as healthy munches for kids as well.

Ingredients Serving: 40

  1. 1 Cup - Sago
  2. 2 - Potatoes, large
  3. 2 tsp - Cumin seeds
  4. Rock salt to taste

Instructions

  1. Take 1 cup sago in a grinder jar and make fine powder. Soak the sago powder in warm water for 6 hours. After 6 hours the sago powder will swell up. Break the lumps and keep aside.
  2. Boil Potatoes and peel them. Grate the potatoes and add to the soaked sago powder. Add cumin seeds and salt to taste. Mix everything very well.
  3. Now take a clean plastic sheet. Make small balls of the sago potato mixture. apply little water to your hands if the dough is sticky. Spread the ball into a thin disk with the help of fingers. Make all the papads similarly.
  4. Sun dry the papads for 1-2 days. Store them in a air tight container and use as per need.
