Ingredients to make Odia badi(skin less black lentil drops)

  • Skinless black lentil 1 cup
  • Cumin seeds 1 teaspoon
  • Bay leaf 2
  • Salt as per your taste

How to make Odia badi(skin less black lentil drops)

  1. Wash and Soak black lentil in water overnight.
  2. Next morning take the lentil in a mixer and add bay leaf and cumin seeds to it.
  3. Add very little water to it and make thick paste of it
  4. Add salt to it and mix with your hand for 5-10 minutes.
  5. Now take a plastic sheet and grease it with oil.
  6. Make small drops of the paste and put on the sheet.
  7. Keep the drops to dry under the sun till the drops are completely dried.
  8. Once the drops are dried peel them off from the sheet and store.
  9. Fry them in oil and have with rice
My Tip: Mixing with hand is very important and should not be skipped as it will yield crispy badi
