Ingredients to make Turmeric Pickle

  • Raw turmeric - 1 kg
  • Mustard oil - 300 gm
  • Fennel - 1- 2 tsp
  • Mustard seeds - 1-2 tsp
  • Red chilli powder - according to taste
  • Salt - according to taste

How to make Turmeric Pickle

  1. .Peel the raw turmeric and wash it nicely. Cut into small pieces and dry under the fan till moisture evaporates.
  2. Heat oil in a pan, add mustard seeds and let them crackle. Add dried turmeric and mix well, add fennel seeds, some salt and red chilli powder to taste. Mix for 5-7 minutes on low flame.
  3. Allow to cool and then spoon into a glass jar for storing.

My Tip:

To store for a longer period immerse the pickled turmeric in oil.
