Ingredients to make Gawar Phali Sabji South Indian Style

  • Cluster beans chopped 2 cups
  • Tuar dal 1 cup
  • Tamarind/Imli soaked 2 teaspoons
  • Finely chopped onion 1 cup
  • Crushed garlic 2 teaspoons
  • Haldi powder 1/2 teaspoon
  • Mirchi powder 1 teaspoon
  • Salt to taste
  • Sambar powder 1 teaspoon
  • Oil 1 tablespoon
  • Mustard seeds 1 teaspoon
  • Curry Leaves 8 to 10
  • Whole red chilly 1

How to make Gawar Phali Sabji South Indian Style

  1. Wash and soak tuar dal in water for 5 minutes
  2. Soaked imli
  3. Heat oil in a pan and prepare tadka
  4. Add mustard seeds and allow it to crackle
  5. Add whole red chilly ,curry leaves and crushed garlic
  6. Add finely chopped onion and sauté for some time
  7. Add chopped cluster beans and all masala /spices and adjust the salt. Cook covered for 5 minutes
  8. Now add soaked tuar dal in sabji and cook covered for next 5 minutes
  9. Add tamarind pulp and mix well ..Cook for some more time and sabji is ready to serve
My Tip: If you like can add little jeggary at end ..to give it sweet and sour taste
