ABOUT Pudala RECIPE

This is a Gujrati breakfast dish made of chickpea flour (Besan).

Ingredients Serving: 2

  1. Chickpea flour - 1 Cup
  2. Tomato - 1
  3. Onion - 1 medium
  4. Green chilies - 1-2
  5. Fresh coriander - 2 tsp
  6. Chilli powder - 1-2 tsp (as per taste )
  7. Turmeric powder - 1 tsp
  8. Garam masala powder - 1 tsp
  9. Salt to taste
  10. Water for making the batter
  11. Oil for shallow frying

Instructions

  1. Grind together tomatoes, onions and garlic to a fine paste.
  2. Mix together all the powdered ingredients and salt with Besan. Add enough water to make a thick batter (of dosa consistency) taking care that no lump remains. Add ground paste and mix well
  3. Heat a non stick tava. Add a ladle full of batter and spread like dosa and shallow fry on both sides adding little oil.
  4. Serve hot with tomato ketchup and/or dahi.
