Instant Tomato Pickle

Ingredients to make Instant Tomato Pickle

  • Tomato - 4 to 5
  • Imli - 1 tablespoon
  • Red chilly powder - 1 tablespoon
  • Haldi powder - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Saunf - 1 teaspoon
  • Methi dana - 1 teaspoon
  • Mustard seeds - 2 teaspoon
  • Salt to taste
  • Curry leaves - 10 to 12
  • Urad dal - 1 teaspoon
  • Chana dal - 1 teaspoon
  • Heeng - 1/4 teaspoon

How to make Instant Tomato Pickle

  1. Chop the tomatoes fine.
  2. Dry roast methi dana and mustard seeds.
  3. Grind the roasted methi dana, saunf, Mustard seeds and all spices into a fine powder.
  4. Heat 1 tablespoon oil in a pan and sauté chopped tomatoes till mushy and soft. Add ground masala and imli to tomato mixture. Mix well.
  5. Heat 1 tablespoons of oil and add mustard seeds, urad dal, chana dal, curry leaves, whole red chilly and crushed garlic. Sauté till crisp. Add tadka to tomato mixture.
  6. Mix well and tomato pickle is ready to eat. Serve instant tomato pickle with paratha, puri, idli or dosa.
My Tip: If you want you can add a little jaggary to the pickle.
