ABOUT Kharzi Rice RECIPE

Arunachal Pradesh the land of seven sisters is occupied by various tribes.they have unique method of cooking. kharzi rice is a dish from monpa tribes in which they normally use fermented cheese. I am using mozzarella cheese in my recipe as i don't like the smell of fermented cheese.

Ingredients Serving: 2

  1. 2 Cups - Cooked rice
  2. 3 to 4 - Dry red chllies
  3. l/4 tsp - Ginger
  4. 2 to 3 tablespoon - Mozzarella cheese or fermented cheese
  5. 3to 4 - Garlic cloves
  6. 1 - Tomato
  7. 1/2 Cup - Spring onions
  8. -salt for taste
  9. 2 tsp - Cooking oil

Instructions

  1. Soak dry red chilies in hot water for 10 to 15 minutes before starting the procedure.
  2. Use left over rice or cook rice and keep it ready.
  3. Take one sliced tomato,3 to 4 soaked red chilies, garlic cloves. Add 2 to 3 tbsp mozzarella cheese or fermented cheese, salt to it and blend to a paste.
  4. Heat a vessel and add tsp of oil. Add this paste and saute on a very low flame for few secs so the raw smell of ginger goes. Keep stirring continuously, add spring onions to it and mix for few secs. switch off the stove.
  5. Add hot rice to above paste and mix. Serve hot with raita.
