Tangy Green Oats

Ingredients to make Tangy Green Oats

  • Oats - 1 Cup
  • Spinach - 1 Cup
  • Carrot, chopped - 1/3 Cup
  • Tomato - 1 large
  • Onion, chopped - 3 tbsp
  • Ginger garlic paste - 1/2 tsp
  • Green chilli - 1
  • Oil - 1 tsp
  • Water as needed
  • Salt to taste
  • Red chilli powder - 1/2 tsp
  • Lemon juice - 1/2 tsp

How to make Tangy Green Oats

  1. Heat oil in a cooker, add ginger garlic paste and onion and saute for few minutes.
  2. Now add chopped spinach, tomato and carrot to it and cook for few minutes.
  3. Add salt, red chilli powder, green chilli and 1/2 a cup of water, close the lid of cooker. Give 2 whistles and turn off the gas, let the cooker cool down.
  4. Open the lid of the cooker strain excess water from the veggies in a bowl and keep this excess water aside. Crush the boiled veggies in to a fine paste.
  5. Now heat a pan add oats to it and dry roast for a minute. Add the vegetable paste and the water of veggies which was kept aside.
  6. Mix well and cook for a few minutes on medium flame till the oats get cooked properly. Add a little water if required.
  7. After the oats get cooked properly, turn off the gas add lemon juice to it and serve hot.
