Broccoli Tawa Masala ( My way )

Ingredients to make Broccoli Tawa Masala ( My way )

  • Broccoli medium size ( 2 cups florets )
  • Butter/Oil 1 tablespoon
  • Cumin seeds 1 tsp
  • Hing/ Asafoetida a pinch
  • 1 onion finely chopped
  • A green chilly deseeded and finely chopped
  • Ginger-garlic paste 1 tsp
  • 1 tomato finely chopped
  • Pav bhaji masala 1 tsp
  • Kashmiri red Chilly powder 1 tsp ( Use chilly powder according to your taste.)
  • Yellow & red capsicum ( both half ) finely chopped
  • Small carrot finely chopped
  • Salt to taste
  • Coriander leaves finely chopped

How to make Broccoli Tawa Masala ( My way )

  1. Cut the broccoli into medium sized florets. Put them into hot water for 2 minutes, drain and set aside ( Blanching ).
  2. Heat Butter or oil in pan. Add cumin seeds and fry. When they crackled, add hing.
  3. Add chopped onion and green chilly. Fry till onion becomes golden brown and translucent.
  4. Add ginger-garlic paste and stir well for a minute.
  5. Add tomatoes, carrot, capsicums and fry.
  6. Cover with a lid for 2-3 minutes.
  7. Open the lid. fry till tomatoes becomes soft and mushy. Add pav bhaji masala, chilly powder and salt. Take care while adding salt. If u have used butter then add less salt. Stir well.
  8. Add Broccoli florets. Stir nicely. Sprinkle little water and again cover with a lid.
  9. Cook till veggies are cooked. Take care of not to overcook.
  10. Garnish with coriander leaves and serve hot with whole Wheat pav or with chapatis ( as u like).
My Tip: Cut a wheat bun into middle. Fill broccoli tawa masala inside and serve.
