Ingredients to make Khaman dhokla

  • 1 cup besan
  • 1 tea spoon ginger chilli paste
  • 1/2 tea spoon haldi
  • 1 eno packet
  • 3 table spoon lemon juice
  • Salt to taste
  • 2 table spoon sugar
  • 1 table spoon mustard seeds
  • 9-10 curry leaves
  • 3 table spoon oil
  • Coriander leaves
  • 3 green chillies

How to make Khaman dhokla

  1. Add besan with ginger chilli paste in a bowl.
  2. Add haldi, eno, sugar, oil, salt and lemon juice in the bowl.
  3. Mix them well to make a thick batter using water.
  4. Pour the batter in the greased tin and steam for 15 mins.
  5. Take the dholka out and place it on a plate .
  6. Take another pan , add oil , mustard seeds , 2 table spoon sugar , 3 green chillies , 1 tea spoon lemon juice curry leaves and 1 cup water.
  7. Boil the mixture and spread it over the dhokla .
  8. Let it rest for 2 mins then garnish with coriander leaves and it's ready to serve.
My Tip: Make the batter without lumps otherwise dhokla will not be spongy.
