ABOUT Cham Cham RECIPE

A delicious Bengali sweet made from cow's milk.

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. Cow's milk - 2 litre
  2. Vinegar or lemon juice - 11/2 tsp
  3. Sugar - 200 gm
  4. 5 Glass - Water
  5. Cardamom powder - 1/2 tsp
  6. Yellow food colour - 1/4 tsp
  7. Saffron strands

Instructions

  1. Boil milk.
  2. Add lemon juice or vinegar when the milk comes to the boiling point.
  3. Once the milk curdles sieve it and throw the whey.
  4. Tie the sieved paneer in a muslin cloth and wash with cold water 2-3 times.
  5. Squeeze the extra water and remove the paneer from cloth to a plate.
  6. Gently mash with your palm for 8-9 minutes.
  7. It will become a soft dough now add yellow colour and mash for 2 minutes. Roll small portions of the dough in oblong shape.

  9. Keep the water for boiling and when it begins to boil add the chamchams.
  10. Boil on high flame for 10 minutes. Then on slow flame for ten minutes.
  11. Add cardamom powder and saffron threads.
  12. Let it cool down completely then shift in the fridge for an hour.
  13. Serve chilled.
