Ingredients to make Kesar Peda

  • 2 Cups - Dry milk powder
  • 3 to 4 spoon - Ghee or clarified butter
  • 1 Cup - Condensed Milk
  • 1 Tsp - Cardamom powder
  • Few drops of yellow color
  • Few pistachios for garnishing
  • Kesar strands, few soaked in warm milk

How to make Kesar Peda

  1. In a microwave proof big bowl, add ghee (room temperature), milk powder and condensed milk. Mix well and heat for 1 minute on high.
  2. Take the bowl out, add the cardamom powder and stir the mixture well.
  3. Add kesar milk and mix well. Heat it again for 1 more minute.
  4. Repeat this process for 6 to 7 times and every time you take out the bowl from the microwave, stir the mixture well.
  5. At the 7th time, the mixture should have a nice texture to it and should begin to leave the sides.
  6. Let it cool for 15 to 20 minutes. Put in fridge for 15 minutes.
  7. Put some Ghee in your palms and make ball from the mixture by rolling it between your palms.
  8. Make a dents into the pedas and garnish them with pistachios.

My Tip:

The time varies with different microwaves so keep an eye on the mixture after the 5th time. Add condensed milk as per your sweet craving.
