ABOUT Matar Paneer RECIPE

Winters are always the best time of the year to have comfort food. Especially when it’s served garma - garam straight out the pan. One such dish is Matar Paneer and layered roti.

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. Onion - 1nos
  2. Tomato - 2nos (skin out and make puree)
  3. Almonds - 15nos ( soaked & peeled)
  4. Ginger garlic paste - 1/2tspn
  5. Kasuri methi - 4tspn
  6. Chilly powder - 1/2tspn
  7. Turmeric powder - 1/8th tspn
  8. Garam masala - 1/4th tspn
  9. Salt according to taste
  10. Paneer cubes - 1cup
  11. Fresh or frozen matar or green peas - 1/2cup

Instructions

  1. Grind onion and almonds together to fine paste.
  2. In a nonstick vessel take some oil. Add the onion and almond paste. Fry well till the raw smell disappears. Add ginger garlic paste and fry for a minute.
  3. Add the tomato paste and fry well till oil separates. Add the spices, Paneer, kasuri methi and matar. Cook for a minute. Add water and cook to required consistency.
  4. Garnish with fresh cream (optional).
