Ingredients Serving: 3

  1. Toor dal – 1 tbspn
  2. Bengal gram Dal – 1 tbspn
  3. Moong Dal – 1 tbspn
  4. Blach Urad Dal Whole – 1 tbspn
  5. Turmeric powder – ½ tspn
  6. Onion – 1 [chopped]
  7. Cumin seeds – 1 tspn
  8. For tempering :
  9. Ghee – 2 tbspn
  10. Mustard seeds – ½ tspn
  11. Whole red chilli – 2 nos
  12. Chopped onion – 3 tbspn
  13. Chopped Garlic – 3 nos
  14. Chopped Green chilli – 1 no
  15. Coriander leaves – few

Instructions

  1. Wash and soak 5 dals in water for 5 to 10 minutes
  2. In a pressure cooker, add 2 cup of water, chopped onion turmeric powder ,cumin seeds and dal on a high flame, cook the pulses for 7 - 8 whistles, until the dal softens
  3. Blend the dal and add required water , salt mix well and cook for 5 minutes
  4. In separate pan heat ghee, add mustard seeds ,whole red chilli , add garlic and green chilli sauté 2 minutes now add chopped onion cook till onion turns light brown add it to cooked dal
  5. Garnish with coriander leaves and serve with Plain Rice.
