Ingredients Serving: 5

  1. Rice Flour – 2 cup
  2. Sesame Seeds – 1/2 cup
  3. Dry Roasted Gram – 1/2 cup
  4. Cumin Seeds – 1 tsp
  5. Ghee – 1/2 cup
  6. Asafoetida – a pinch
  7. salt as per taste
  8. Jantikalu gottam (Murukku press) to form round shapes
  9. Oil for fying

Instructions

  1. Tie the rice flour in a cloth and keep it in a small pan. Keep this inside a covered pan of boiling water for 5 minutes to steam.
  2. Remove from pan. Grind the gram and mix with cumin, melted ghee, salt, sesame seeds, asafoetida and steamed rice flour. Knead together into a soft dough.
  3. Use the jantikalu gottam (murukku press) and squeeze out rounds into the hot oil. Fry them on both sides until golden. Remove and drain excess oil.
