Egg Burji Semiya Upma

Ingredients to make Egg Burji Semiya Upma

  • Roasted vermicelli 1 cup
  • Onion (small, chopped) 1
  • Tomato (chopped) 1
  • vegetable oil 2 tbsp
  • Ghee 1 tbsp
  • Turmeric powder 1/4 tsp
  • Red chili powder 1/2 tsp (divided)
  • Eggs 2
  • Water 2 cups
  • Salt as required

How to make Egg Burji Semiya Upma

  1. Heat ghee and oil in a pan.
  2. Add the chopped onions and saute until they turn translucent.
  3. Next, simmer the flame and add the turmeric powder and 1/4 tsp red chili powder and saute for a minute.
  4. Then add the chopped tomatoes and saute well, until they turn soft and get mushy.
  5. Next, add 2 cups water and salt as required.
  6. Close the lid and allow to boil.
  7. Once it boils, add the vermicelli and cook closed in medium flame.
  8. When half cooked, break the eggs and add on top.
  9. Immediately sprinkle some salt and red chili powder on the eggs and mix.
  10. Next mix the eggs with the vermicelli.
  11. Close the lid and cook for another 2 minutes, until cooked completely.
  12. Serve hot.
My Tip: You may add coriander leaves and garam masala powder too to add more flavor.
