Ingredients to make Aloo tikki

  • 4 medium sized boiled potatoes
  • 1/2 teaspoon red chilli powder
  • 1 cup of fresh bread crumbs
  • Juice of one lemon
  • 3-4 teaspoons of fresh coriander chopped
  • 1 tsp Salt
  • Corn flour
  • Oil for frying

How to make Aloo tikki

  1. Peel the potatoes and keep in a bowl
  2. Mash them and add salt , red chilli powder ,coriander, lemon juice and bread crumbs.
  3. Mix them well with ur hands .
  4. Divide the mixture into medium sized balls .
  5. Shape them like tikkis and keep aside .
  6. heat oil in a pan or a tawa, roll tikkis in cornflour and place the tikkis in medium hot oil.
  7. cook on medium flame .
  8. flip when one side turns brown and crisp.
  9. cook the other side too .
  10. Remove from pan and place on a absorbent paper .
  11. Serve hot with coriander chutney , meethi imli ki chutney, chilled curd and grated radish or sliced onions .
My Tip: Adding bread crumbs makes it very crispy.
