This is a fusion recipe having the chinese influence in it. India is flooded with indo chinese recipes in the restaurants and this is one of the famous recipes served.

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. 250 gm Paneer
  2. 1 tbsp maida
  3. 2 Tbsp Cornflour
  4. 1 onion [cut in quarters and separate the layers]
  5. 1 capsicum [cut into cubes]
  6. 2 spoon fresh ginger garlic and red chilli paste
  7. 2 tsp soy sauce
  8. 2 tsp Vinegar
  9. 1 spoon tomato ketchup
  10. a pinch ajinamoto [optional]
  11. Salt to taste
  12. Oil for frying
  13. orange food color 1/2 tsp

Instructions

  1. Dice the paneer into equal cubes.
  2. mix maida,1 spoon cornflour, 1 spoon ginger garlic paste and salt , in a bowl and keep aside.
  3. Add little water to the above mixture and add the paneer pieces, leave them to marinate.
  4. keep it for 30 mins.
  5. now heat the oil and deep fry the marinated paneer pieces.
  6. Remove the extra oil from the pan and use the same for the next part of the procedure.
  7. In the hot oil, add ginger garlic paste and saute for few seconds.
  8. fry on high flame.
  9. Add the onions and saute them on a high flame for about 2-3 minutes.
  10. Now add the capsicum pieces as well and saute further.
  11. now in a bowl take half glass water.
  12. add cornflour, soy sauce, vineger , colour, ketchup, ajinomoto and salt to the water in the bowl. give it a mix to avoid any lumps.
  13. pour this mix in the pan so as to make the gravy /sauce for the paneer.
  14. When there is a certain luster in the gravy, add the fried paneer pieces followed by green chillies and coriander leaves.
