Ingredients to make Pecan pie

  • 250 gms Plain flour
  • 250 gms salted Butter
  • 1 tbsp Ground sugar
  • Chilled water
  • 1 cup Pecans chopped
  • 1/2 cup light Brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup White sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 tsp Vanilla extract
  • 2 tbsp Milk
  • 1/4cup Butter

How to make Pecan pie

  1. Preheat the oven to 200C. Prepare a pie pan by buttering and flouring.
  2. Sift plain flour add sugar. Cut chilled butter into cubes
  3. Rub in the butter into flour till mixture resembles coarse breadcrumbs.
  4. Slowly add water and bind all the ingredients in a dough. Don’t knead the dough.
  5. In a bowl beat eggs until soft peaks form. Stir in the butter, brown sugar, white sugar. Lastly add milk, vanilla extract and pecan nuts.
  6. Pour this mixture onto the pie crust.
  7. Bake in preheated oven for 1 hour
  8. Serve with cream or yogurt.
