Mitha Anna

Ingredients to make Mitha Anna

  • Shruti kolam rice 1 cup
  • moong dal 1/2 cup
  • Greated coconut 1/2 cup
  • ginger 1/2" greated
  • bay leaf 1 No
  • cashew nuts 10 nos
  • Raisin 15 nos
  • sugar 3 tbs
  • salt to taste
  • ghee 3 tbs
  • star anise 1 no
  • clove 3 nos
  • cardamom 3 nos
  • turmeric powder 2 tsp

How to make Mitha Anna

  1. Wash the rice and dal discard the water and, add turmeric powder mix well and keep it aside for 5 minutes.
  2. Put ghee in a wok and fry bay leaf ,cardamom , star anise , clove , for 3 seconds , add cashew nuts, raisins , ginger , fry 30 seconds, immediately add rice dal mixture and stir it , fry this for 3 minutes.
  3. Then add coconut ,sugar , salt, fry it for another for 2 minutes .
  4. Then add 2 1/2 cups water to it and cover the lid .
  5. Cook it in low flame .
  6. Take out when cooked .
