Yellow MoongDal Dhokla

Ingredients to make Yellow MoongDal Dhokla

  • 1 cup moongdal paste ( soaked for 2 hours and blended to a paste)
  • 1 eno sachet
  • Salt to taste
  • 1/4tsp Citric Acid
  • 1/4 tsp sugar
  • 1 tsp besan if required
  • Water if required
  • Oil for greasing
  • Ingredients for Tampering :
  • 1 tsp oil for tadka
  • 1 tbsp Mustard seeds
  • Salt as per requirement
  • Sugar as per taste
  • 3 Lemon juice
  • 4 Green chillies slit
  • 1 bunch Chopped coriander leaves
  • Water according to requirement
  • Pomegranate pearls

How to make Yellow MoongDal Dhokla

  1. For Dhokla :
  2. In moongdal paste add salt and sugar..
  3. It should be of pouring consistency
  4. If it is thick add water accordingly
  5. If its watery add some besan and Mix it well
  6. (Meanwhile apply oil in dhokla steamer and add 1 cup water into it , microwave for 2 minutes)
  7. In dhokala batter add Citric acid and half sachet of eno give a light mix..
  8. Now pour the batter into dhokala steamer and microwave it for 15 minutes or till it get cooked.
  9. Check it by inserting toothpick in the center. If comes-out clean dhokala is ready , Otherwise cook it for some more time
  10. When cooked completely let it cool down and cut into desired shapes of your preference!!!
  11. For Tampering:
  12. Add few drops of oil in a pan heat it
  13. Now add mustard seeds , slit green chillies curry leaves and chopped coriander leaves
  14. Add sugar , lemon juice salt and water
  15. I prepared it's taste like lemonade
  16. So depends on your choice add less or more quantity of ingredients into it..
  17. Let it cool down!!!
  18. Now its time to add dhoklas into this syrup or lemonade
  19. Refrigerate them for 1 hour ..
  20. Serve chilled tastes good.
My Tip: They are very refreshing and stomach filling too. Try to serve them chilled
